Having awarded the production of it's Champions League coverage to Motive/Playmaker in 2009, TV3 management led by CEO David McRedmond set a very different challenge for the team on Europa League coverage. A decision was made to use the competition to drive their new digital platform 3e. This meant a different type of coverage, something geared at a younger demographic, something fast paced, irreverent and action packed.

 

Tommy Martin and Kirsteen O' Sullivan presented up to three hours coverage a night featuring every goal from every matchday, with the highlight of two wonderful years coming as we provided the domestic feed when the 2011 final between Sporting Braga and Andre Villas Boa's FC Porto took place at the Aviva Stadium, the first European Final to be staged in Dublin. The final called upon another first for our team as we streamed an alternate view of the game and the stadium on tv3.ie.
